Join us as we celebrate the International Year of Forests in 2011. Canada's 397 million hectares of forest represent 10% of the world's forest cover and contain 20% of the world's freshwater. Forests cover more than half the country and are home to two thirds of our wildlife, but less than 8% of Canada's forests are fully protected.
